How do you convert pixels to inches?

Pixel densities vary depending on your display and the device you're using, but generally, the more pixels in a given area (of a physical size), the sharper and clearer the image will be. To convert pixels to inches, use this simple formula:

Pixels / DPI (dots per inch) = Inches

It's important to note that different devices have different amount of dots per inch (DPI). This means that in order to accurately convert pixels to inches, you need to know what DPI your device has. For clarity, let's assume you have a laptop with an LED display with 96 DPI. Now, if we have a 500 x 500 image and want to find out how many inches it is, here's what we do:

500 pixels divided by 96 DPI (dots per inch) = 5.2 inches

Now that we know how many pixels are in one inch on our laptop, we can easily calculate how large other images should be for them to fit correctly on our laptop's display. For instance, if you wanted an image to fit exactly into a square measuring 10 inches by 10 inches on your laptop's display – simply multiply the length or width of that square by the pixels-per-inch ratio of your screen:

10 inches * 96 pixels/inch = 960 pixels

So in this case, an image of 960 x 960 pixels would fit perfectly into that 10×10 inch square space on your laptop screen.
